Beat the Florida Heat with a Wyndham Pool Day!

Summer is in full swing in Florida and this heat and humidity has been something else this year. When I moved to Gainesville, I always joked that the only way you'd see me outside on 90 degree days was in a body of water, but the joke has become my reality! When was the last time you escaped to a beautiful resort to beat the heat?!

I had the pleasure of enjoying a weekend getaway at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive, during Curvy Confidence Swim weekend, with the crew helping for our off site event a few weeks ago and we could not have picked a better weekend for a relaxing pool day.

We even saw a few spooky familiars since Friday night was the start of Spooky Empire Weekend at the Convention Center, I'm sure you can imagine, the crowd was certainly eclectic in the lobby. I had no clue we'd witness Frankenstein making the rounds by the pool on our way to and from our rooms, or jack skellington posing with a fan, but it was a fun treat. One of our Curvy Confidence Crew, Cheyenne, was happy to be able to network with other spooky locals by the pool at night over the weekend.

Shortly after we got up to our room, the wonderful room staff of Wyndham brought us a snack tray with yummy cheeses and fruit to enjoy before we went onto our evening adventures. In our last trip to Wyndham, Terrance and I enjoyed the amenities of the resort and spent a lot of time on iDrive checking out the Wax Museum and Sugar Factory etc so we went a different direction with this trip.

This particular trip we had a busy weekend itinerary outside of the hotel on Saturday for Curvy Confidence, but the proximity to iDrive let us host a Meetup at Yardhouse Friday night with ten of the ladies attending the off site Summer Swim event, and then the smaller group of us enjoyed the relaxing amenities of the room and resort grounds, Saturday night between game night when we returned and a pool day Sunday before we checked out.

It was important to me that after a long day of Curvy Confidence events myself, fiancé, and crew helping with the events had a comfortable and relaxing place to stay and our rooms did not disappoint. Two adjoining rooms, with a nice sitting area for us to gather and enjoy meals together before and after our days activities really created a enjoyable ambiance to the weekend.

While many people enjoy this resort due to the proximity of the attractions, and their shuttle to them, many of my favorite things are right in the heart of the resort.

There's nothing I love more then a beautiful pool, and not only does the Wyndham feature one large resort pool, but there's also a secondary smaller quiet pool adjacent - both stunning! The pools are right in the center of the resort grounds, making it extremely accessible no matter what building you're in and walking the path to get there is just a short strolling through across beautiful greenery and floral grounds. The view from the main pool is unique too, with a view of the rides from iDrive. Between the ambiance of the resort pool, the fun festive music coming from the pool area and the beautiful Florida weather, this is a great resort for you to enjoy a weekend getaway whether you're local to Orlando, or from afar.

We enjoyed a few drinks, some sun, and relaxation. While we were out at the pool, my sweet fiancé grabbed lunch, and brought us a round of drinks to toast to a fun, happy, successful weekend.
